The first look at the first season of Ncuti Gatwa’s new Fifteenth Doctor in “Doctor Who” will take place on Monday.
A trailer for the new run of eight episodes will premiere following the show’s Christmas special which goes to air in the UK at 5:55pm on BBC One and iPlayer on Christmas Day.
No date has been announced for that first season run of Gatwa’s Doctor beyond a likely first half of 2024 airing, hopefully said trailer will reveal a potential premiere date.
The “Doctor Who” Christmas special “The Church on Ruby Road” will mark the first full episode featuring Ncuti Gatwa as the Doctor and Millie Gibson as Ruby Sunday.
The special begins when, long ago on Christmas Eve, a baby was abandoned in the snow. In the present day Ruby meets the Doctor, stolen babies, goblins and perhaps the secret of her birth.
It will mark the first “Doctor Who” Christmas special since 2017’s “Twice Upon a Time” which marked Peter Capaldi’s final outing in the lead role. Jodie Whittaker’s specials were often New Year’s Day premieres.
