A24 has released the first trailer for Alex Garland’s Civil War and it looks excellent! The official blurb reads:

Set in the near future, the film revolves around the U.S. amid civil war, where government air strikes are used against civilians and journalists are shot on sight in the Capitol. “A race to the White House in a near-future America balanced on the razor’s edge.”

Kirsten Dunst stars as a journalist living in a future USA where 19 states have seceded from the Union. Nick Offermanwith plays a three-term President and when it comes to fucks given about attacking American citizens, he has none.

Garland has a great track record, having written and directed Ex Machina, Annihilation, and Men. He also wrote 28 Days Later, and 28 Weeks Later, Sunshine and Dredd. This dude has form!

The cast of Civil War includes Kirsten Dunst, Wagner Moura, Stephen McKinley Henderson, Cailee Spaeny, Karl Glusman, Sonoya Mizuno, Jonica T. Gibbs, and Jess Matney. We also get to see Dunst’s real-life husband, Jesse Plemons sporting some nifty shades. The film is released in cinemas on 26th April.

NOT Shawn Thompson.

My skills as a writer and LMO contributor are only so deep and I don’t want to do this an injustice. Instead. I shall shut up and let the trailer take it from here. Let me know what you think in the comments section.
