The MCU will continue to rumble on for quite a while yet. Many have spoken about Marvel and their apparent malaise and how to resolve it. One of the biggest rumors is always that they will return to the core, and look to bring back some beloved characters.
How realistic is that? Even if it is a possibility to reunite Captain America and Iron Man with Black Widow, and re-engage Thor, would they even be on side with the idea? Yesterday morning Chris Evans appeared on The View and was asked about this. This is what he had to say:
“You know, I always see those reports too, and it’s news to me. I think every couple months, someone says that they’re getting Downey, and Hemsworth, and Scarlet, and everyone’s coming back. No one’s spoken to me about it. And look, I would never say never, but I really – I’m very protective. It’s a very precious role to me, so it would have to be just right.”
Meanwhile, the usual array of scoopers has been out in force all across the internet talking about various go-forward plans in the MCU, claiming that sequels to Eternals, Black Panther, Doctor Strange, and Thor really are very much in their thinking, while Moon Knight and Ms. Marvel are likely to get a second season. Also mentioned in the various rumors is a second season of She-Hulk… but nobody would be that stupid, would they?
The biggest rumor out there is that Cillian Murphy is up for the role of Doctor Doom, and will be revealed as a cameo in Fantastic Four. This is entirely unconfirmed.
One thing that is confirmed, however, is that after all the revolving writers and directors around the next Avengers instalment, Loki creator and former showrunner, and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness writer, Michael Waldron is the new writer for Avengers: The Kang Dynasty. He is already writing Avengers: Secret Wars. This is after director Destin Daniel Cretton’s departure from the film.
All change!
