Former “Ted Lasso” star Hannah Waddingham is out there right now promoting her just-released Apple TV+ 45-minute Christmas special which involves songs, cameos and more.
During those promotional rounds, Waddingham touched upon her cameo in the “Hocus Pocus” sequel and addressed the possibility of her character, Mother Witch, returning for a third one.
We do know Disney has put a third “Hocus Pocus” into development with screenwriter Jen D’Angelo trying to figure out what comes next for the Sanderson sisters.
As of just over a month ago, the story was still being worked out but the writer promised more for Mother Witch who gifted the spell book to the young Sanderson sisters.
Speaking with THR this week, Waddingham she doesn’t confirm her return at this point but adds that she hopes to don her cape again. Asked if she’s heard anything about returning to her role she said:
“No, hilariously. I love that there’s been all this talk, and I’m here for it. But no, no. I mean, that would be amazing. I feel like I just barely, barely scratched the surface or put half an eyelash on for her.
I feel like there is far more for the Mother Witch to cause magnificent mayhem. I would be so down for that. I mean, for one, Salvador Perez’s costume needs another trot out for sure, and my cape that I wouldn’t let them cut, definitely needs another swish. And she needs a song, P.S.”
The Emmy-winning actor will be seen in numerous upcoming films including “The Fall Guy,” “The Garfield Movie” and the eighth “Mission: Impossible” feature.
