Kelsey Grammer is back in force lately with both the “Frasier” revival and very briefly reprising his role of the blue-furred Dr. Hank McCoy/Beast from “X-Men: The Last Stand” for a cameo in “The Marvels”.
It marks the second cameo he’s had in the role after a brief appearance back in the part for “X-Men: Days of Future Past”. Nicholas Hoult has primarily played the role on screen across the four younger “X-Men” films that began with “X-Men: First Class”.
Speaking to The Wrap recently, Grammer discussed his more recent cameo and says it could very well just be the start as he sounds pretty certain he will be back as Beast again. He tells the outlet:
“It is my hope that you will [see him again]. I can say with a certain amount of confidence that you will. I would love to. I’ve always wanted to play him again. I see him as an extraordinary character, a real character of gravitas and importance in our culture. I’m delighted Beast is back and hope he’s back in a real way.”
That confidence has raised the obvious question as to whether Grammer could make another cameo in the part in next year’s “Deadpool 3” or, down the road, the eventual multiverse-mashing “Avengers: Secret Wars” film.
How Marvel Studios plans to incorporate the X-Men into its narrative isn’t clear yet with the aforementioned “Deadpool 3” likely to offer the first real signs of where things are going.
The report comes as artist Andy Park has posted some concept art designs he did for Grammer’s “Marvels” cameo. Check out that art below.
