Sony Pictures has released the first trailer for their Marvel Comics film adaptation and “Spider-Man” spin-off “Madame Web” ahead of the film’s launch in February next year.
Dakota Johnson stars in the lead role in the film which marks a part of Sony Pictures’ Marvel Universe of Characters (SPUMC) alongside “Venom” and “Mobius”.
The project is subbed a “standalone origin story of one of Marvel publishing’s most enigmatic heroines”.
The suspense-driven thriller stars Dakota Johnson as Cassandra Webb, a paramedic in Manhattan who may have clairvoyant abilities. Forced to confront revelations about her past, she forges a relationship with three young women destined for powerful futures…if they can all survive a deadly present.
Sydney Sweeney, Celeste O’Connor, Isabela Merced, Tahar Rahim, Emma Roberts, Mike Epps, Adam Scott, and Zosia Mamet also star in the S. J. Clarkson-directed feature.
Matt Sazama and Burk Sharpless penned the screenplay for the film which is getting a theatrical release on February 16th 2024. It marks the first of three Sony-Marvel films opening next year with “Kraven the Hunter” coming in August and “Venom 3” towards year’s end.
