The first season of the animated Marvel Studios series What If…? was a fun romp through hypothetical scenarios across the Multiverse. According to a rumored list of episode titles for season 2, What If…?‘s scale will grow to cosmic proportions. What If…? Season 1 certainly had its crazy moments, but mainly featured twists on classic Marvel Studios stories fans have grown to love.
Unless he’s palling around with Minilla or Godzilla Jr., it’s hard not to see Godzilla as anything other than a 20,000-ton, fire-breathing metaphor. When used well, that symbolic weight crystalizes the terror of living in a world in which 100,000 people can have their lives snuffed out by atomic weapons.
