Returning showrunner Russell T. Davies has confirmed that Nicola Coughlan (“Bridgerton,” “Derry Girls”) will guest star on next year’s “Doctor Who” Christmas Day special airing in December 2024.
Ncuti Gatwa’s second season as The Doctor recently commenced production with that Xmas special among the earliest episodes to be shot for the second season run. 2023’s Christmas special, “The Church on Ruby Road,” will serve as Gatwa’s introductory episode and was shot almost a year ago. Star Trek: Prodigy
Netflix has confirmed that the previously aired first season of the animated series “Star Trek: Prodigy” is set to debut on the streamer on December 25th. Netflix will also be airing the unaired second season, though there is no premiere date for it at present. [Source: Netflix]
The Fall of the House of Usher
Mike Flanagan’s new Netflix series “The Fall of the House of Usher” topped Nielsen’s streaming charts for the week of October 9th-15th – pulling in 1.23 billion minutes viewed and pushing “Suits” off the top spot. [Source: Yahoo]
Netflix Games
Netflix has announced several new games that will be available on their streaming service and are based on their original series – namely an interactive-fiction game based on “Money Heist,” a narrative RPG based on “Shadow and Bone” and an RPG based on the animated “The Dragon Prince”. “Shadow and Bone” is available now with the others to release in coming months. Jurassic World: Chaos Theory
Netflix has premiered the first trailer for next year’s “Jurassic World: Chaos Theory,” a CG animated follow-up sequel series to “Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous”.
The new series is set after the Jurassic World park has closed and a new era of chaos begins. Scott Kreamer and Aaron Hammersley serve as showrunners.
