Netflix has announced a March 21st 2024 premiere date for its lavish sci-fi epic series “3 Body Problem” which hails from former “Game of Thrones” showrunners David Benioff and D.B. Weiss.

The series is based on Chinese author Liu Cixin’s sci-fi trilogy which tells the story of what happens when humanity discovers that we are not alone in the universe and prepares for an alien force arriving from a distant and inhospitable world.

The original Hugo Award-winning novel trilogy runs from the 1960s on Earth until the end of time in the distant fringes of the universe.

The cast includes Jovan Adepo, John Bradley, Liam Cunningham, Eiza González, Jess Hong, Marlo Kelly, Alex Sharp, Sea Shimooka, Zine Tseng, Saamer Usmani, Benedict Wong, Jonathan Pryce, Rosalind Chao, Ben Schnetzer, and Eve Ridley.

Benioff and Weiss serve as showrunners alongside co-creator, writer and executive producer Alexander Woo. Rian Johnson and Rosamund Pike are among the many executive producers along with Plan B Entertainment.

Oscar-nominated director Derek Tsang (“Better Days”) directs multiple episodes, whilst Cixin and Ken Liu will be consulting producers.
