Director Wes Ball breathes new life into the global, epic franchise set several generations in the future following Caesar’s reign, in which apes are the dominant species living harmoniously and humans have been reduced to living in the shadows. As a new tyrannical ape leader builds his empire, one young ape undertakes a harrowing journey that will cause him to question all that he has known about the past and to make choices that will define a future for apes and humans alike.
Oh wow…. I sort of forgot about this movie coming out, but I am quite excited to see it, especially after this preview for the upcoming feature. Naturally, I loved the recent Planet of the Apes trilogy, with keen special interest in Dawn of the Planet of the Apes and the War for the Planet of the Apes, which showcased blockbuster cinematics within a sophisticated manner of storytelling and characters. There were rumors on the internet that a sequel trilogy, which would take place after the events of the War, and would further cement the idea of rise of Ape kind and the decline of humanity. This new trailer showcases that notion beautifully and creates a visually stunning new world order as the Apes have become more powerful and have lost the ways and teachings that Caesar provided for them. It will be quite interesting to see how this movie will ultimately shape up to be and how it will play. I, for one, can’t wait to see this film!
Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes arrives in theaters on May 24th, 2024
