“Star Wars” star Daisy Ridley is set to star in the survival thriller “We Bury the Dead” from writer/director Zak Hilditch who helmed the well-received adaptation of Stephen King’s “1922” novella.
Ridley plays Ava, a desperate woman whose husband goes missing in the aftermath of a catastrophic military experiment.
Hoping to find him alive, she joins a body retrieval unit, but her search takes a chilling turn when the corpses she is burying start showing signs of life.
Kelvin Munro, Grant Sputore and Ross Dinerstein produce. Filming will begin in February in Western Australia and complies with the MEAA/SAG-AFTRA agreement terms.
Ridley will next be seen in several upcoming films including “The Marsh King’s Daughter,” “Young Woman and the Sea,” and “Sometimes I Think About Dying”.
She’s also expected to shoot the next “Star Wars” film in the UK next year, that movie set to take place fifteen years after the events of ‘Rise of Skywalker’ and sees her Rey character training the next generation of Jedi.
