“Pig,” “Old” and “Hereditary” star Alex Wolff is set to star in, write and direct the ‘dark and sexy’ psychological thriller “If She Burns”.
He’ll be joined in the film by Victoria Pedretti (“You,” “Once Upon A Time In Hollywood”), Asa Butterfield (“Sex Education,” “Ender’s Game”) and Justice Smith (“Detective Pikachu,” “Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves”)
Pedretti plays a young woman who travels to Europe with her dysfunctional family after a traumatic incident.
She engages in a turbulent affair with her enigmatic neighbor (Wolff). Combined with increasing family tensions and mysterious wildfires, things threaten to push her to breaking point.
Wolff, Jay Van Hoy (The Witch) and Andra Gordon (Castle in the Ground) produce. Wolff will also write and produce music for the film with Karl McComas-Reichl.
The project marks Wolff’s second feature following 2019’s “The Cat and the Moon”. He next stars on screen in “A Quiet Place: Day One”.
The project is currently in pre-production and scheduled to start shooting on location in Italy in 2024. Actors were all attached to the film prior to the SAG-AFTRA strike.
