Former “Friends” star Matthew Perry has died. TMZ broke the news, the actor reportedly appears to have drowned in his jacuzzi at his Los Angeles home on Saturday. He was 54.
Law enforcement sources tell the outlet that first-responders rushed over on a call for cardiac arrest. Perry was found in a jacuzzi at the house, and no drugs found at the scene.
The outlet also has been told there is no foul play involved. Perry was most famous for his role as Chandler Bing on the hit 1990s sitcom across ten seasons with his character being a fan favorite for many.
Perry had also appeared in numerous other film and TV series over the years including “The Whole Nine Yards,” “17 Again,” “Fools Rush In,” “Three to Tango,” and shows like “Beverly Hills, 90210,” “Ally McBeal,” “The West Wing,” and “Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip”.
He hasn’t acted on screen since 2017. The actor famously battled substance addiction problems over the years, namely alcohol and painkillers. Perry released a memoir last year going into his personal battles.
He also had other health issues that sometimes required hospitalizations. One stemmed from a gastrointestinal perforation from which he recovered.
Matthew never married, but was briefly engaged to Molly Hurwitz several years ago.
