By “Kingsman” and “Rocketman”star Taron Egerton is set to lead the crime thriller “She Rides Shotgun” which Black Bear is launching sales for on the project which has an interim agreement through SAG-AFTRA.
The film is based on John Harper’s acclaimed novel with Nick Rowland (“Calm With Horses”) directing from a screenplay by Ben Collins and Luke Piotrowski.
Egerton plays Nate, an ex-con who made enemies of the powerful criminal gang he worked for on the inside. Desperate for a fresh start, Nate cuts ties with his old crew on his release.
The gang retaliates by putting a hit on his family, forcing Nate to go on the run with his shy eleven-year-old daughter Polly, whom he hardly knows.
Their enemies are relentless, forcing Nate to teach Polly how to survive and watch her transform from a timid little girl into a force to be reckoned with. He learns what it is to love unconditionally as he bonds with his daughter and battles for their future.
Fifth Season will fully finance and produce and production is set to begin in early 2024.
