Hello Outposters! I’ve literally just got home from watching Killers Of Flower Moon, so my review is hotter than Ana de Armas sitting in a sauna whilst eating a Chicken Vindaloo and wearing slippers.

Scorcese, DiCaprio, De Niro, Plemons, and Fraser are the biggest names from what is surely to make Killers Of Flower Moon “absolute cinema” and to be honest… it was one of the most boring movies I think I have ever seen. Sorry chaps!

The movie looks gorgeous, the music is sublime and as you would expect, the acting is impeccable. The sets and costumes are faultless and Scorcese does a bang-up job of transporting you back to the 1920s. However, it goes on, and on, and on, and on… What is delivered over its nearly three-and-a-half-hour run time, could easily be accomplished in half that time and be the better for it.

I’m not one of these people who gets deterred by a three-hour movie, in fact, I welcome it. I love a film that takes its time to build and develop characters on screen, but these three odd hours felt more like an entire day. There are many lengthy scenes of Leonardo and Robert chewing it up on screen which felt like they were just left in so these pair of luvvies could pat themselves on the back for their art.

To be fair, the acting is faultless, one would say a Masterclass™. There’s a lot of talk about Brendan Fraser’s role but he’s in the movies for a full 3 minutes max, so don’t get too excited. De Niro does a great job of playing a two-faced, slippery bastard, who you dare not trust – insert joke about him not actually having to act too hard for this role.

Many are banging on about Lily Gladstone as Molly Burkhart but I have to be honest, her role mainly involves moping around suffering from diabetes and looking disapprovingly at DiCaprio. The only people who are licking their lips at a potential Oscar nod are those looking to use her performance to earn those ever-valuable virtue-signaling points where they can bleat on about the appalling treatment of red Indians indigenous people by those evil white men.

Look, I’m a massive Scorsese fan and this cinematic legend rarely puts a foot wrong, but this film was not good. Do yourselves a favour and save yourself the money and effort and wait for Killers Of Flower Moon to come on Apple TV in early December.
