With Kevin Smith promoting his latest sequel, Clerks III he’s now confirmed that talks are officially on to make a sequel to his 2014 horror flick, Tusk. The movie which was spawned from a podcast discussion continues to gain a cult following and will now see a second part. And cast members Justin Long, Genesis Rodriguez and Haley Joel Osment have all been in on the discussions to get the sequel made. Smith took to his podcast to confirm the news, what we might expect from a second Tusk, and when the film will make its way into theaters…or streaming.
“Ever since the heart attack, I’ve been living on borrowed time. 2024 will mark the 10 year anniversary of Tusk. We could just leave it there and move on but you know, I’ve got more story left I’d like to tell. There’s a reason we left him in the zoo in the end. I always knew as we were making the movie I was just like, ‘I’ll totally do this again’. I thought we’d have the late great Michael Parks with us longer, but sadly he’s not. But I know we got Justin Long.”
Smith also confirmed that the movie will be called Tusks but plans on stylizing it as Tusk$. He says that the sequel will be taken out on a roadshow like what he’s currently doing with Clerks III. He also did this with his Red State.
