In the lead-up to “Fast X,” it was marketed as the first of a two-part finale to the franchise.
Around release time actor Vin Diesel, in his usual aggrandising way in press interviews, teased that Universal was considering turning it into a three-parter.
Now, in a new message on his Instagram, the actor has made it clear that the upcoming “Fast XI” (aka “Fast X: Part Two”) will definitely be the end of the road.
In the statement, Diesel refers to the film as the “finale” of the series on multiple occasions and adds a respectful thanks to the fanbase for their enthusiasm, passion, and support through the years. the posting says:
“Just finished our end of the week Fast meeting with the writers and the whole team… to say the excitement for our finale was incredibly powerful is an understatement. Wow. So exciting…
While everyone was heading into the weekend amped and excited, I thought of you all… reminded of the countless moments when your enthusiasm and passion became the driving force behind our creative journey. Your commitment to our saga has had a unique impact on its success and evolution… as my youngest daughter would say, it’s profound.
Thank you for being the backbone of this global saga that because of you, transcends the screen. This grand finale is not just an ending; it’s a celebration of the incredible family we’ve built together.”
The news also marks the first public update on the film in months and the first following Diesel’s former assistant suing him for sexual battery in December stemming from an alleged 2010 incident. Diese has denied any wrongdoing.
