By A24 has premiered the second trailer for the highly anticipated “Civil War,” a new action thriller from acclaimed “Ex Machina” and “Annihilation” writer/director Alex Garland.
The story takes place in the United States in the not-so-distant future and has been dubbed a combination road movie, satirical war film and elevated shooter.
The story begins when nineteen states of the United States have seceded from the union and now is made of factions, including the ‘Florida Alliance’ and the ‘Western Forces’ which sees California and Texas on the same side.
The action follows a family, including Kirsten Dunst as a warzone photographer, making their way across a country gone mad.
The cast includes Wagner Moura, Stephen McKinley Henderson, Cailee Spaeny, Karl Glusman, Sonoya Mizuno, Jonica T. Gibbs, and Jess Matney.
Gregory Goodman, Andrew Macdonald, and Allon Reich will produce for A24 and DNA Films. The film is scheduled for release on April 12th and will be available in IMAX.
