Elizabeth Olsen (“WandaVision”) and Charles Melton (“May December”) have scored the lead roles in Todd Solondz’s new dark comedy film “Love Child” which will be sold at the European Film Market in Berlin.
The story follows Misty, a woman stuck in a loveless marriage with a brutish husband and her precocious eleven-year-old as her only consolation.
It’s then a handsome vagabond stranger named Easy appears and the son hatches a plan to have him replace the father. That backfires and a more devious and disastrous scheme emerges.
Killer Films, Volition Media, Gramercy Park Media and Rocket Science are backing the project which David Hinojosa and Ford Corbett will produce.
Solondz said in a statement that the film aims to be “a super fun and playful celebration of Hollywood movies.”
Solondz is known for his boundary-pushing indie films like “Happiness,” “Storytelling,” “Welcome to the Dollhouse,” and “Life During Wartime”. His most recent film was 2016’s “Wiener-Dog”.
