Following the release of the first official trailer earlier this week, Paramount Pictures has now released the Superbowl spot for “A Quiet Place: Day One”, which is a cut-down version of said trailer.
The 30-second ‘Big Game’ spot comes ahead of kickoff on Sunday when multiple films are expected to have spots air with the likes of “Deadpool 3,” “Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes,” “Twisters” and “The Fall Guy” all rumored.
Based on an original idea by John Krasinski, and written by Michael Sarnoski and Jeff Nichols, this spin-off film will not deal with the Abbott family storyline and instead unfold against the larger backdrop of the universe of the two prior films.
The story takes place on the first day of the sonic-targeting beasties arriving on Earth and promises to show how our world went ‘quiet’.
Lupita Nyong’o (“Us”), Joseph Quinn (“Stranger Things”) and Alex Wolff (“Hereditary”) star in the project, which hails from “Pig” director Michael Sarnoski. Djimon Hounsou, who had a role in the second main film, is reprising that part here.
The film is slated to arrive in cinemas on June 28th. John Krasinski, Michael Bay, Andrew Form and Brad Fuller will produce. The Abbott family storyline will continue with a third film in 2025.
