It has been confirmed that “Daredevil: Born Again” will restart production Monday after a lengthy hiatus.
In addition Philip Silvera, who acted as stunt and fight coordinator on the Netflix version of the series, will return stunt coordinator and second unit director on this.
The restart following a lengthy hiatus comes after the production was halted partway through not just by the strikes but also a creative reset and retooling.
As a result the series is changing from more of a legal procedural to something more akin to the Netflix series. Part of that is new people in charge including “The Punisher” showrunner Dario Scardapane taking over that position here, and “Loki” season two directors Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead serving as directors.
The show will not be 18 episodes as first announced. The new number isn’t set yet but is expect to be more in line with the original Netflix series model – so potentially anywhere from 8-13.
The release of “Echo” has been a hi for the service, debuting number one on both Disney+ and Hulu and its star Alaqua Cox has been out on the talk show circuit.
In addition several seasons have seen ratings bumps on the Disney+ service including the first two seasons of “Daredevil,” the first season of “The Punisher” and “Hawkeye”.
