“You deserve to know the real story! And it’s a good one…” Netflix has unveiled the first teaser trailer for their next animated movie titled Steps, made by Netflix Animation Studios for streaming. Netflix is always buying indie animated films to play, but this they made in-house on their own. “Think you know Cinderella’s ‘evil’ stepsisters? Think again.” Steps is a reinvention of the Cinderella story about her other sisters. Blamed for magical mischief at the Royal Ball, stepsister Lilith turns her other step-sister into a frog and causes the kingdom to be run by a mean girl. She must work with Cinderella and a troll to save the kingdom and prove that even “villains” deserve happily ever afters, too. Huh, okay. The voice cast features Ali Wong as Lilith, Amanda Seyfried as Cinderella, Stephanie Hsu as Margot, Nikki Glaser as the evil Priscilla, Daniel Radcliffe as The Prince, Young Mazino, Luis “Damian Priest” Martínez, Peter Dinklage, and with Bette Midler as The Fairy Godmother.
