At just 30 years old, British actor Tom Holland has topped everyone at the box-office – becoming the highest-grossing actor of all time based on worldwide cumulative grosses.
His role as Peter Parker/Spider-Man and some other successes like “The Odyssey” and “Uncharted” have led to his combined filmography pulling in a total of $15.5 billion worldwide.
That has overtaken his “Avengers: Endgame” co-star Zoe Saldana whose work between the “Avatar,” “Guardians of the Galaxy” and “Star Trek” franchises (and hits like the first “Pirates of the Caribbean”) brought her box-office total to $15.468 billion.
Saldana overtook the record earlier this year which was previously held by former Marvel regular Scarlett Johansson at $15.401 billion.
Other Marvel alums up in those echelons are Samuel L. Jackson with $14.6 billion, Robert Downey Jr. with $14.3 billion, and Chris Pratt with $14.1 billion.
“Spider-Man: Brand New Day” pulled in a further $27.4 million worldwide this weekend, bringing its overall gross to $2.452 billion.
In North America, the title pulled in another $8.5 million and is expected to pass “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” soon to become the highest-grossing film of all time domestically.
“The Odyssey” meanwhile made an additional $34.4 million worldwide this weekend, bringing its total to $1.68 billion. It’s by far Holland’s biggest non-Marvel success, followed by “Uncharted” with $407 million, “Dolittle” with $251 million and “The Impossible” with $198 million.
