By While the Primetime Emmy Awards aren’t for another week, over the weekend, the Creative Arts Emmy Awards were handed out over two consecutive nights. One of the most heartfelt wins went to the late Rob Reiner, who won for Guest Actor in a Comedy Series for season four of The Bear. On the show, he played Albert Schnurr, a business consultant who mentors line cook Ebraheim (Edwin Lee Gibson) as he tries to expand the titular restaurant’s business.
Other winners included Betty Gilpin, who won a much-deserved Emmy for her amazing guest-starring role on Widow’s Bay as Sarah Westcott Warren in the terrific one-off episode “Our History,” which was directed by Ti West. Another long-overdue Emmy went to Linda Cardellini for her role on DTF St. Louis. Somehow, she’s never won an Emmy in a career that has included Freaks and Geeks, a long stint on ER, and Dead to Me. David Harbour also won for DTF St. Louis.
Journeyman actor Ernest Harden Jr., who’s been acting for fifty years, also took home an award for Guest Actor in a Drama Series for The Pitt, while Shailene Woodley won the corresponding award in the actress category for Paradise.
