By Shemar Moore is bringing Daniel “Hondo” Harrelson back into action with S.W.A.T. Exiles, a new spin-off of the long-running S.W.A.T. franchise.
The new series picks up with Hondo facing the consequences of a disastrous raid that ends with a death. Forced to step away from S.W.A.T., he gets an unexpected opportunity from his former commanding officer, Robert Hicks, played by Patrick St. Esprit. Hicks asks Hondo to build a new unit using some of Los Angeles’ most talented but overlooked S.W.A.T. officers.
Putting together the team is only the beginning. Hondo must prepare his unconventional recruits for some of the most dangerous threats across Los Angeles while dealing with a much more personal problem: there is a mole inside the unit.
As classified information begins reaching outside forces, Hondo realizes his suspicions may be justified. The team may not simply be struggling from within — someone powerful could be deliberately working to destroy S.W.A.T. and replace it with a more private and controllable operation.
Jason Ning serves as showrunner and executive producer, with Moore also producing alongside Neal H. Moritz, Pavun Shetty, James Scura and Jon Cowan.
S.W.A.T. Exiles premieres September 25 on Starz.
