Jack O’Connell has been around since Skins from 20 years ago, but his star is burning white hot after his villainous turn in Ryan Coogler’s Sinners. The actor would also recently be seen as another horror villain in 28 Years Later: The Bone Temple. Now, O’Connell takes a break from the supernatural and stars in a straight drama for Danny Boyle’s Ink. The film takes a look at the plane of news reporting as it changed forever with Newscorp founder, Rupert Murdoch’s The Sun finding success in sensationalistic stories. Ink is set to have its world premiere at the 83rd Venice Film Festival and it will also be screened at this year’s TIFF. Stay tuned for our review on the film!

The film is based on the Tony-nominated play by James Graham, who also adapted the screenplay. Per the description, Ink is “an explosive cinematic rollercoaster about a group of visionaries and misfits who had an idea for a new kind of news — one that would give the people what they want and would change the face of the world we live in today.“

StudioCanal handled worldwide sales and will release the film theatrically in their territories of the UK, France, Germany, Italy, Poland, Benelux, Australia, and NZ.
