Announced back at CinemaCon, Marvel Studios has now premiered the trailer for the theatrical re-release of Joe and Anthony Russo’s “Avengers: Endgame”
In its original run, ‘Endgame’ grossed around $2.8 billion worldwide – the second-highest-grossing MPA film of all time internationally and the biggest global opening ever with $1.2 billion at the time.
Co-director Joe Russo previously confirmed they’ll be re-releasing the film with footage that is set in the “Avengers: Doomsday” story added to this re-release.
It’s described as “an opportunity to create a bridge from Endgame to Doomsday in a very unique way, and because the movie was so successful, we have an opportunity to re-release it.”
“Avengers Endgame: Encore” is only expected to have some brief footage tied to ‘Doomsday’, otherwise it’s the same film as back in 2019.
“Avengers Endgame: Encore”hits cinemas September 25th while “Avengers: Doomsday” opens in cinemas on December 18th.
