
Oded Fehr and Kevin J. O’Connor will reprise their roles from the original 1999 film “The Mummy” for the upcoming next installment in the franchise at Universal Pictures.
O’Connor played Beni Gabor, a former French Foreign Legion comrade of Brendan Fraser’s Rick O’Connell. He became a conman and servant of the resurrected Egyptian high priest Imhoptep, and was last seen being eaten alive by scarabs.
Fehr played Ardeth Bay, the leader of the secret society of warriors known as the Medjai who protect Egypt from the creature. Fehr reprised the role in “The Mummy Returns”.
“Young Sherlock” actor Numan Acar is also joining the cast, but character specifics are under wraps. He marks the second new face to join the cast alongside “Obsession” star Michael Johnston who is expected to play a grown up Alex O’Connell.
Fraser reprises his role of American adventurer Rick O’Connell while both Rachel Weisz and John Hannah are back English Egyptologist Evelyn Carnahan and her brother Jonathan.
Radio Silence duo Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett are directing from a script by David Coggeshall. The film is slated for an October 15th 2027 release.
