First Trailer: Jessica Chastain In “Other Mommy”

Universal Pictures and Blumhouse Atomic Monster have premiered the first trailer for “Other Mommy,” a new horror/thriller that hits cinemas on October 9th.

The project is described as a terrifying trip into the darkening world of a young girl, Bela, who forms a relationship with a sinister entity in her home who looks uncannily like her own mother.

Oscar winner Chastain takes on the dual role as Bela’s mother and the eponymous manifestation of the entity.

Also starring are Arabella Olivia Clark (“The Housemaid”) as Bela, Jay Duplass (“Industry”) as Bela’s father Daddo, Dichen Lachman (“Severance”), Arian Moayed (“Succession”) and screen legend Karen Allen (“Raiders of the Lost Ark”).

“Host” and “The Boogeyman” helmer Rob Savage directs while “The Conjuring” and “Saw” filmmaker James Wan produces the movie.

WGA award winner Nathan Elston (“Succession”) penned the script based on the New York Times bestselling novel “Incidents Around the House’ by Josh Malerman. Malerman’s novel “Bird Box” became the Sandra Bullock-led smash hit Netflix film.

Michael Clear, Judson Scott, Rob Savage, Josh Malerman and Ryan Lewis executive produce.
