After some brief teasers, the proper trailer for “Birdman” and “The Revenant” director Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu’s new film “Digger” has arrived.
Tom Cruise stars as a powerful man trying to convince the world he’s its saviour – before widespread destruction caused by the catastrophic consequences of his own actions.
Shot on 35mm VistaVision with Emmanuel Lubezki lensing, the film also stars Riz Ahmed, Sandra Hüller, John Goodman, Jesse Plemons, Michael Stuhlbarg, Sophie Wilde, Emma D’Arcy, Robert John Burke, Burn Gorman and Pip Torrens.
Inarritu co-wrote the screenplay with Nicolás Giacobone and Alexander Dinelaris, the project marking his first English-language film in a decade.
The film was shot throughout the first half of 2025 in the UK with a budget of around $125 million. Industrial Light & Magic and Legacy Effects are providing the visual effects.
“Digger” will screen only in cinemas from October 2nd.
