Lionsgate has premiered a new featurette for “The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping,” this putting the focus on the film’s main character – a younger version of Haymitch Abernathy.
Joseph Zada takes on the role which Woody Harrelson played in the original four-film saga. The story takes place in the world of Panem, a full 24 years before the events of “The Hunger Games”.
Specifically things kick off on the morning of the reaping of the 50th Hunger Games/Second Quarter Quell. A young Plutarch Heavensbee (Jesse Plemons) is in District 12, capturing the reaping of the Tributes there when he meets a 16-year-old Haymitch Abernathy (Joseph Zada), a District 12 tribute who will compete..
Haymitch will one day go on to mentor Katniss Everdeen as she prepares for the 74th Hunger Games.
