Over a half-century, Sylvester Stallone has racked up nearly 100 feature film credits to his name, but most of those are a wash according to actor/comedian Seth Rogen.
Appearing with his “The Studio” co-star Ike Barinholtz on a recent episode of the Funny You Ask podcast, Rogen has straight up dismissed most of Stallone’s filmography saying the man made only somewhere around “four truly good films” over his career.
He then gave one example: “‘Demolition Man’. ‘Tango and Cash’ is enjoyable, but it’s not a good movie. I don’t give a s*** about any ‘Rocky’ movies.”
Then came comparisons to Arnold Schwarzenegger with Rogen saying it’s not even a close call. Barinholtz says: “Stallone is maybe not as good as Schwarzenegger. Not even close. ‘Predator’ alone is better than anything Stallone has made” with Rogen then adding: “Stallone has no Terminator 2, no True Lies. Schwarzenegger is in legitimately great movies.”
People have begun debating which four fit the bill with the early “Rocky” movies, “First Blood,” “Cliffhanger,” “Cop Land,” “Creed,” and “Demolition Man” getting praise.
Others are seen as guilty pleasures or underrated titles like “Tango and Cash,” “Death Race 2000,” “Daylight,” Nighthawks,” and “Victory”.
Stallone turns 80 next month and can currently be seen in “Tulsa King” on the Paramount+ service, which is in the midst of its fourth season.
