Sony Pictures and Marvel Studios’ “Spider-Man: Brand New Day” has reportedly posted the best first day pre-sales of any movie in five years and easily the best of 2026 so far reports Deadline.
In fact, it’s the best reported first day pre-sales since “Spider-Man: No Way Home” in 2021. That film opened to $260.1 million domestically and $600.5 million globally – the second-best opening at the domestic box-office ever and the third best worldwide.
The news comes as Insomniac Games has announced a free bonus for “Marvel’s Spider-Man 2” game players – Peter Parker’s new ‘Fresh Start’ suit from the upcoming film will be added to the game, the costume added via a free update on July 28th for PlayStation 5 and PC.
Four years have gone by since we last caught up with our friendly neighborhood hero. Peter Parker is no more, but Spider-Man is at the top of his game keeping New York City safe.

In order to take on what’s ahead, Spider-Man not only needs to be at the top of his physical and mental game, but he must also be prepared to face the repercussions of his past
Tom Holland reprises his role as Peter Parker/Spider-Man in the film, which is being helmed by Destin Daniel Cretton (“Wonder Man,” “Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings”).
