A24 has premiered the teaser trailer for “Primetime,” which marks “Ren Faire” filmmaker Lance Oppenheim’s first scripted feature film.
The movie draws inspiration from the iconic early 2000s reality TV series “To Catch a Predator,” which was a part of the television news magazine program “Dateline NBC”.
It followed Chris Hansen as he became involved in sting operations catching pedophiles. He would confront adult men with hidden cameras at a sting house where they had arrived to have sex with minors – and instead got arrested.
Ajon Singh penned the film in which Pattinson plays Hansen, who takes on the underbelly of crime in a unique way – in the process changing the landscape of television forever.
Merritt Wever, Skyler Gisondo, Matthew Maher and Bokeem Woodbine co-star in the film, which is currently targeting a September release.
Pattinson, Oppenheim, Brighton McCloskey, Brian Kavanaugh Jones, Fred Berger, Lars Knudsen, Ari Aster and Tyler Campellone will produce.
