Netflix has announced that as filming is getting underway in Greece on the sixth season of “Emily in Paris,” the new run will also be the show’s last.

Netflix ordered a sixth season of the show in January, following a fifth season in which Lily Collins’ Emily returns to Paris after opening a Rome office of the marketing agency she works for. At the same time, she starts a new romantic relationship.

In a statement Thursday, series creator and showrunner Darren Star said of the series ending:

“Making Emily in Paris with this extraordinary cast and crew has been the trip of a lifetime. As we embark on the final season, I am so grateful to Netflix, Paramount, and most importantly, the fans who have taken this incredible journey with us. We can’t wait to share this last chapter with you. Thank you for letting us be a part of your lives, inspiring your dreams of travel and your love of Paris. We will always have Emily in Paris.”

The fifth season stayed in Netflix’s worldwide top 10 for English-language series for five weeks, and overall the series has recorded 250 million views from 2023-25.

It joins other recent announcements of popular Netflix series that will come to a close – namely “The Lincoln Lawyer” and “The Night Agent” which end with their fifth and fourth seasons, respectively.
