A24 has released a featurette for “The Death of Robin Hood” ahead of the film’s opening on June 19th.

The story is described as a grounded, visceral and darker reimagining of the classic Robin Hood tale and will see an older version of the title character grappling with his past after a life of crime and murder.

Now he’s a battle-worn loner who finds himself gravely injured and in the hands of a mysterious woman who offers him a chance at salvation.

Hugh Jackman, Jodie Comer, Bill Skarsgård, Murray Bartlett and Noah Jupe star.

Jackman is the third Aussie to play the role, following Tasmanian-born Errol Flynn in the 1930s original and Jack Patten in the MGM+ series. Fourth, if you count New Zealand-born/Australia-raised Russell Crowe.

Filmmaker Michael Sarnoski (“Pig,” “A Quiet Place: Day One”) penned and directs the film, which Aaron Ryder, Andrew Swett and Alexander Black will produce.
