Amazon Prime Video have officially announced a November 11th 2026 premiere date for the third season of their “The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power” series.

The announcement was made as part of Amazon’s upfront presentation this evening, the streaming giant also releasing the first official photo from the new season, which you can see above.

The company says the series has attracted over 185 million viewers worldwide and is “one of the highest performing and most-viewed titles ever on Prime Video, with a broad, highly engaged, global fan base.”

The first season had the largest launch of any Prime Video series ever. The second season wasn’t as strong, but it still premiered as the top original series on Nielsen’s Streaming Top 10 chart.

Season three is expected to jump ahead several years after the second season and unfold during the height of the War of the Elves and Sauron, as “the Dark Lord seeks to craft the One Ring that will give him the edge he needs to win the war, bind all peoples to his will — and at last rule all Middle-earth.”

The series is produced by showrunners and executive producers J.D. Payne and Patrick McKay. Lindsey Weber, Justin Doble, Kate Hazell and director Charlotte Brandstrom executive produce.
