Car chases, explosions, high falls, and intense fight sequences might look effortless on screen, but they often require dangerous coordination behind the camera. Even with careful planning, professional stunt teams, and strict safety protocols, things can still go wrong. Over the years, several productions have experienced serious accidents while filming these moments. Here are fifteen movie stunts that ended in an injury or something even worse behind the scenes.
The Crow – Brandon Lee’s Fatal Prop Gun Accident
During filming, actor Brandon Lee was struck by a projectile when a prop gun malfunctioned. A fragment from a dummy round had remained lodged in the barrel and was fired during the scene. The accident tragically killed Lee and forced the production to finish the film using stand ins and visual effects.
The Expendables 2 – Deadly Explosion Accident
During a boat explosion stunt in Bulgaria, a special effects blast went wrong. Stuntman Kun Liu was killed, and another stunt performer was seriously injured. The accident occurred while the crew was filming a scene involving explosives on the water.
