Cast your minds back to the dark days of 2020. The West collectively lost its mind, with many governments just assuming that your individual freedom was theirs to take away, so in many nations and states they locked people in their homes.
With movie theaters shuttered, streaming gained the mother of all boosts, and the first to stride manfully into this arena was the excellently named Tyler Rake.
With as name like that, he was only ever going to be a stuntman, a porn star, or a mercenary. Luckily for us, and devotees of 1980s VHS rental excellence, he chose mercenary and we got Extraction.
The movie was massive, but it kinda deserved to be as it was refreshingly simple, straightforward and old school.
In a world full of messaging, Extraction simply said “fuck that noise!” and then proceeded to blow stuff up while Chris Hemsworth punched and shot everything.
The sequel upped the ante, as this time around Hemsworth punched things while his fists were on fire. Fantastic!
Now the production listings have indicated that shooting will begin on a third film in the Extraction franchise in June.
Remember, the last one ended with something of a reveal and a potential build featuring a mysterious character played by Idris Elba.
What’s On Netflix says the shoot will run for nearly four months through to October 9th.
The first was set in Bangladesh but filmed in Thailand and India. The second was set in Georgia but filmed in the Czech Republic.

Does this mean somebody will be coming after Rake? They should have left him alone…
