The Batman: Part II is set to begin filming in just a few weeks across Liverpool and Glasgow, plus at the Warner Bros. studios in Leavesden, just outside London.

It appears there is still one role left to fill.

Jeff Sneider on The Hot Mic says that Brad Pitt has already turned down the role of Harvey Dent’s father, Christopher Dent.

Now Stellan Skarsgård has also declined the offer.

The role is said to be small, yet integral and creatively demanding. Sebastian Stan is rumored to be set as Harvey Dent, with Scarlett Johansson as his wife Gilda.

Robert Pattinson returns as Bruce Wayne/Batman, alongside Colin Farrell as Oz Cobb/The Penguin, Andy Serkis as Alfred Pennyworth, Jeffrey Wright as Commissioner James Gordon and Barry Keoghan as The Joker.

It remains an Elseworlds project, separate from Gunn & Safran’s DC Universe though it is being produced by their DC Studios.

In other DC news, it looks like the Themyscira-set Paradise Lost TV series has been killed, instead to be replaced by a Wonder Woman project written by Supergirl screenwriter Ana Nogueira.

The first movie didn’t leave much of an impression on me until I revisited it and paid more attention. When I did, I found a lot to like and lots of very subtle things I had completely missed the first time around.

The Penguin was strong TV. So I am interested to see where they go with this.
