A24 has come on top in a seven-figure bidding war with major streamers and networks for a new erotic thriller spec script from writer-actor Dylan Brady (“Andor,” “Get Even”).
Originally titled “Discretion,” the project has Nicole Kidman in talks to star – her second project with A24 following the successful film “Babygirl”. A24 reportedly beat out the likes of Netflix, Amazon, Apple, FX, Peacock and others for the rights.
The title will undergo a change to separate itself from an upcoming Paramount+ TV series named that, which also stars Kidman and Elle Fanning.
Brady’s now untitled drama centers on a struggling male actor who takes a nannying job with a high-flying producer and her movie-star husband. He aims to seduce his employers and exploit their industry connections, but unwittingly has found himself ensnared in a far more dangerous game.
Dubbed a ‘reverse Fatal Attraction,’ Brady explains (via Deadline) what his goal with the series is:
“Erotic thrillers have historically always been very heterosexual, and it’s the marital unit that is the hero that has to be preserved at all costs from an evil slut, who threatens that unity. I thought about what this looks like in 2025. What if the slut is the hero and there is something rotten in the marriage? I wanted to break form and put a queer lens on it.”
The script achieved the second spot on the 2025 Brit List, the UK equivalent of The Black List, and was inspired by the real-life story.
