Adam Sandler is reportedly set to replace Christian Bale as the lead in “Deliver Me From Nowhere” and “Hostiles” filmmaker Scott Cooper’s next feature “Time Out” at Netflix.
Sandler, coming off “Happy Gilmore 2” and a supporting role in Noah Baumbach’s “Jay Kelly,” will take on the lead role in this reimagining of Laurent Cantet’s 2001 film “L’Emploi du Temps”.
The original film follows a middle-aged man fired from a prestigious consulting firm who finds his life sinking more and more into trouble as he hides his situation from his family and friends.
To sustain his lifestyle, he sets up a Ponzi scheme and is eventually enlisted into smuggling by a career thief. Filming on this version is slated to begin April 1st in Vancouver.
Sandler recently said of his career “I will make at least 50 more movies before I am dead – and at least 25 of them will be good.”
Cooper has multiple projects in development including “Comanche ” which Michael Mann was originally slated to direct.
