A new high-stakes crime series is on the way as Lucky brings Marissa Stapley’s bestselling novel to the screen. Based on the New York Times bestseller and Reese’s Book Club pick, the seven-episode series stars Anya Taylor-Joy as Lucky, a sharp-witted con artist whose carefully planned life unravels after a multi-million-dollar heist goes disastrously wrong.

Forced into survival mode, Lucky finds herself on the run from both the FBI and a ruthless crime boss determined to make her pay. With no safe harbor and no allies she can fully trust, she must rely on her instincts, deception skills, and sheer nerve to stay alive while searching for a way out of a tightening net. The story blends tense thriller elements with character-driven drama, centering on identity, survival, and the cost of living by your wits.

Produced by Reese Witherspoon’s Hello Sunshine, the series was created by Jonathan Tropper and is co-showrun by Tropper and Cassie Pappas. The ensemble cast includes Annette Bening, Timothy Olyphant, Aunjanue Ellis-Taylor, Drew Starkey, Clifton Collins Jr., and William Fichtner, adding depth and gravitas to the cat-and-mouse narrative.

With Taylor-Joy in the lead and a creative team known for elevated storytelling, Lucky is positioned as a sleek, suspenseful adaptation that turns a crime caper into a dangerous fight for freedom.

Coming out on July 15 at Apple TV.
