OK, I’ll admit it. I am looking forward to Masters Of The Universe. Sure, Hollywood could just let me down again, but I want to see if the earnest, camp, dumb fun from the cartoon and toy line can be brought to the big screen without the ever-shrinking Cannon budgets.

Test screenings have apparently been getting great scores, and a screening for exhibitors took the roof off. However, we heard the same a few years ago for The Flash, didn’t we?

We have now seen the briefest glimpse of what is to come in a special 30 second teaser for the trailer, which arrives today at 6am PT / 11am ET. That’s 4pm in London, I think.

This tease leans heavily into the 1980s time period of the original cartoon, then it shows Nicholas Galitzine’s Adam, his sword, the Eternia landscape, Idris Elba’s Man at Arms, Battle Cat in what could be his Cringer alter-ego, and Camila Mendes as Teela. The character on the left is presumably Kristen Wiig as Roboto.

In the film, ten-year-old Adam Glenn (Galitzine) crash-lands on his mother’s home planet Earth, separating him from his ancestor’s Power Sword of Grayskull. Two decades later, he is reunited with the sword as he accepts his destiny to take on the mantle of He-Man as he returns to battle for his home planet, Eternia, against the evil forces of Skeletor (Jared Leto).

The film also stars Alison Brie as Evil-Lyn, Morena Baccarin as the Sorceress, James Purefoy as King Randor, Charlotte Riley as Queen Marlena, Sam C. Wilson as Trap Jaw, Hafthor Bjornsson as Goat Man, Jóhannes Haukur Jóhannesson as Fisto, Kojo Attah as Tri-Klops, Jon Xue Zhang as Ram-Man, Sasheer Zamata as Suzie, and Christian Vunipola as Hussein.

Here is the teasiest tease of a trailer:

When the full trailer lands later today, we will include it right here as soon as we can get our hands on it. Check back later.

Amazon MGM Studios, Escape Artists, and Mattel Films will release the film in cinemas on June 5th 2026.
