Jason Momoa is going to be around quite a bit in 2026. The actor has no less than five films opening this year and is already at work on more for 2027.

One of the biggest films he’ll appear in this year is “Supergirl” opening in June in which the “Aquaman” actor finally gets to play his dream role of DC Comics intergalactic mercenary Lobo.

The 46-year-old actor, currently out promoting his team-up with Dave Bautista in “The Wrecking Crew,” tells TODAY that his character in “Supergirl” is “amazing” and his “ultimate dream”, adding: “I wanted to play him more than Aquaman, this is it.”

Lobo has a blink-and-miss appearance at 95 seconds mark in the “Supergirl” teaser.

Momoa also popped up on Jimmy Fallon’s talk show and confirmed that filming on the “A Minecraft Movie” sequel would begin in late April 2026.

He praised the script, calling the script “even better” than the first: “It’s so good. I was laughing out loud. I haven’t laughed out loud in a very long time in a script.”

Jared Hess directs and co-writes the new film with Chris Galletta which is aiming for a Summer 2027 release.

Momoa also just did a cameo this weekend on SNL playing Hagrid in a “Harry Potter”/”Heated Rivalry” mash-up called “Heated Wizardry”. Other films he has on the way include the road comedy “Animal Friends,” playing Blanka in the new “Street Fighter” film, and playing a new version of his Duncan Idaho character in “Dune: Part Three”.
