Send Help
It’s official, Sam Raimi’s survival horror-comedy “Send Help” has been officially rated R for “strong/bloody violence and language” – marking Raimi’s first R-rated film since 2000’s “The Gift”. The Rachel McAdams and Dylan O’Brien-led film follows a follows a female employee and her irritating boss whose plane crashes on an island – with only the two of them making it out alive. Mister Miracle
DC Studios chief James Gunn has confirmed the upcoming animated series “Mister Miracle,” based on the Eisner Award-winning comic book series by Tom King and Mitch Gerads and the character created by Jack Kirby, will be set in the DCU. King will serve as showrunner on the series which will potentially introduce Darkseid to the DCU. [Source: Instagram]

Marvel Studios
Colman Domingo is one of the most in-demand actors out there these days, which has led to plenty of speculation about his joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe outside of his current role as Norman Osborn in the animated “Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man”. Speaking with MTV’s Josh Horowitz on the red carpet for the Golden Globes, he says:

“Listen, I had one beautiful meeting with Kevin [Feige]. Nothing since, but we’ll see. I think we’re always waiting — we’re waiting for the right thing. I know that I am. I feel like I would love to be a part of the Marvel universe, but I feel like I want it to be very intentional and specific. I want to know, like, exactly what I’m doing. I don’t want to just do anything.”

Star Trek: Starfleet Academy
“Star Trek: Starfleet Academy” executive producers Alex Kurtzman and Noga Landau say the fifth episode of the about-to-launch series is “essentially a love letter” to “Star Trek: Deep Space Nine”. “Star Trek: Starfleet Academy” premieres on Paramount+ on January 15th. [Source: TrekMovie]

Odd Jobs
Prime Video and CBS Studios have handed out a series order to the future-set adult animated comedy “Odd Jobs,” which was co-created and executive produced by “Solar Opposites” duo Mike McMahan and Dominic Dierkes. Titmouse will handle the annimation.

Set in an extreme late-stage capitalist hellscape in 2127, the show follows a reluctant team of gig workers as they travel around the neo Midwest, doing the weirdest most dangerous tasks the ODD JOBS app demands. [Source: Deadline]
