One thing guaranteed to ruin any outdoor activity is being hunted by a psychopathic backwoodsman. Has nobody ever seen Deliverance? Now, Charlize Theron and Taron Egerton will play these roles, but hopefully with less buggery and squealing like a piggy in Apex.
The first trailer has been released for the Netflix survival thriller.
Theron plays Sasha, a rock climber and adrenaline junkie who, as she sets out on an adventure in the Australian bush, finds out that nature isn’t the only danger in the Outback. Egerton is the ruthless psychopath who has targeted her as prey in his deadly game.
Eric Bana also stars. Egerton has to rock an Aussie accent.
Baltasar Kormákur (2 Guns, Everest) directs from a script by Jeremy Robbins. Theron, Dawn Olmstead, Beth Kono, AJ Dix, Ian Bryce, Peter Chernin, Jenno Topping, and David Ready produce. It was filmed on location in New South Wales, Australia.
Apex lands on Netflix on April 24th, 2026.
