Mike (Hugh Jackman) is at a crossroads in his life. As a Veteran and recovering Alcoholic, he uses his musical talents as a tribute artist in Wisconsin.

Eager to avoid donning a wig and playing Don Ho, Mike is eager to become a serious artists he calls “Thunder”.

Mike meets a Patsy Cline impersonator named Claire (Kate Hudson), ans becomes attracted to the single mom. They form an act called Thunder and Lightning while dating and find success playing the music of Neil Diamond.

Their pairing becomes popular and they marry and begin to expand their act including opening for Pearl Jam at a local concert.

Challenges arise due to Mike’s health and career challenges which makes the story even more gripping when you factor in that it was based on a true story.

Jackman and Hudson are great together and the lively musical recreations will have you singing along to the timeless classics.

While it may take you on an emotional Roller-coaster; “Song Sung Blue” combines music and solid performances in an enjoyable combination.
