Wow. It really is like the old days on the movie internet right now. Hot on the heels of the Avengers: Doomsday teaser leaks, now Spider-Man: Brand New Day is getting the same treatment. Now all we need is somebody to be banned from Skywalker Ranch, and for us to publish a fake Oscar list, then lie about it, and the circle will be complete!
Footage has appeared on the internet that is held to have passed the now mandatory “Is it AI?” test. It is nearly a minute long and looks as if somebody secretly recorded it from somebody else’s computer on a phone.
The images are poor quality, but the audio is clear and features Tom Holland giving a voiceover. This is what it says:
“Hi, my name is Peter Parker. You don’t remember me, but we used to know each other. Something bad was gonna happen, and the only way to stop it…was to make everyone forget about me. Because I’m not just Peter Parker, I’m Spider-Man. And sometimes, Spider-Man has to do the hard thing, even if it breaks Peter Parker’s heart.”
Also heard is Sadie Sink’s voice telling Spider-Man to stay out of her way.
ComicBookMovie says they have confirmed the clip is real, and Sony Pictures has swung into action to use copyright rules to enforce removals.
Marvel and Sony have declined to comment so far.
The trailer is expected to be attached to Anaconda, which opens on Christmas Day.
