NEON and Cweature Features have premiered the trailer for the Adam Scott-led “Hokum” which premiered at the Toronto Film Festival earlier this year.

Scott plays a reclusive novelist who retreats to a remote Irish inn to scatter his parents’ ashes, but the staff’s tales of an ancient witch haunting the honeymoon suite take hold of his mind.

Soon, disturbing visions and a shocking disappearance draw him into a nightmarish confrontation with the darkest corners of his past.

Damian McCarthy is writing and directing the project while Peter Coonan, David Wilmot, Florence Ordesh, Will O’Connell, Michael Patric, Brendan Conroy, Austin Amelio and Ezra Carlisle co-star.

Shot in West Cork, Ireland, earlier this year, the film is being produced by Roy Lee, Steven Schneider, Derek Dauchy, Ruth Treacy, Julianne Forde and Mairtín de Barra.

“Hokum” will be released in cinemas on May 1st.
